Zinc PCA is made by joining zinc with pyrrolidone carboxylic acid, usually called PCA. PCA is one of the natural compounds found in skin's moisture-holding layer, which is why it suits skincare well. Zinc adds its own properties, and together they are used to help manage shine.

Formulators use zinc PCA in acne products, sunscreens, deodorants, micellar waters and cleansers. In rinse-off and wipe-off products, it helps skin feel fresh afterward. It dissolves well in water-based formulas, so it blends in without a heavy feel and leaves skin soft and non-greasy.
